I’ve always been a storyteller.
From the time I was a child, I would sit at the top of the stairs in my house and dream of everything: plays, interviews with Oprah, blockbuster movies, you name it! I wanted to create a reality that wasn’t my own, one that was filled with Black and brown representation and fearless women pursuing their dreams.
Through creating fun, engaging, informative and educational content, working with brands and garnering tens of millions of page views, and producing livestream beauty content reaching millions of viewers, my ultimate goal has remained the same: I’m here to show you your dream life is a life worth fighting for.
When I started TheBlondeMisfit back in 2015, there was no one to guide me or walk me through how to be a blogger. At the time, I wasn’t focused on “influencing” but rather just providing a space where Black girls eager to break into fashion could learn and stay informed of the realities of the industry. What started as a hobby became a launching pad for so many things in my life.
My purpose is to inspire the masses. That could be through a video partnership, a branded campaign, a speaking event, a commercial, or more. I’m especially passionate about amplifying the voices of Black and brown creators in this space.
It’s amazing that I get to partner with Fortune 100 lifestyle brands on how to position themselves in the multicultural market, how to forecast the needs of consumers in the future, and how to make sure their current product assortment really caters to its intended audience.
For so many years, I played it small. I doubted myself and didn’t believe I could do it. Now I’m showing other women they can do it, too.
